Still tweaking the blog a bit, mostly colors and arrangement of the widgets and gadgets.
I still had formatting issues when I posted about my trip to Roxas this morning. The issue erupted when I started inserting pictures within the post. Had to edit again the HTML so that big breaks in between paragraphs won't appear. The trick now is to edit the additional "</br>" tag that appears at every end of the paragraph, automatically placed there by the HTML code. This occured only when the post I did required images. Yesterday's post which was all-text was no problem.
I also added a little custom-header up-top. Nothing too fancy, just my way of putting my own brand, so to speak, in this blog that's made from Blogger's own Template Designer. Who know how many hundred other bloggers out there have used the same template and color schemes, right? With the custom-header, I've made this my own.
I'll be introducing a little more bells and whistles to this but I'm glad that this time around, the template switch retained all the existing widgets and gadgets that I didn't have to re-install anything. The Twitter feed though does not work.
I also am not sure why Google Ads are not showing when I view the blog from the Desk. The ads were showing though last night when I was reviewing it from home.

Just got a boost from Smart Bro, literally.
True to their word, Smart Bro's speed has upped. And even my little pre-paid plug-it has felt the up-speed as I was able to happily surf away yesterday. I was even able to do some changes and tweakings to this blog last night with the Smart Bro plug-it.
As advertised, continued improvement of PLDT-Smart's broadband network has upped the normally max 3mbps plug-its to 5mbps while their more expensive plug-its have been upped to 7mbps from 5mbps. What's the good news about it? The up-speed is at no cost to subscribers!
Smart, you've got one happy customer here!

I forgot to mention earlier ... during my stay at Iloilo, I was finally able to watch an episode of HBO's A Game of Thrones.
Unfortunately, since I haven't seen the series' earlier episodes, I didn't know what was going on but mainly looking at the production value, I could say that HBO spared no expense to make this adaptation as faithful as possible to the original source. And with GRRM's influence in the TV series, it's no wonder it had remained faithful and has continued to enthrall fans.
I've liked what I've seen and since I've no chance to catch the episodes regularly, I'll just have to content myself to buying the entire season when it comes out on DVD one of these days.
Wonderin' why this was the first time I've seen Game of Thrones? That's because even though we're on Sky Cable, we only chose the Php 280 bundle as we had two TVs to hook up to (darn the digi-boxes). On top of the Php280 for the main line, we have to pay an additional Php 250 for the second TV line. In addition, since the 280 bundle was quite limited we had to add on a monthly basis Php 100 for Star Movies, another hundred for Disney Junior (a must for Ikai and now even for Issa), and Php50 for Discovery -- all add-on channels. I had wanted to add the basic HBO but Sky Cable said that was not possible and the only HBO they could provide to our 280 plan was the HBO bundle (HBO Signature, HBO Hits, and HBO Family) which was still different from the basic HBO. If I had wanted HBO, I should've gone with Plan 499 at the loss of a lot of channels that were on the 280 package.

I'm not all that thrilled with Discovery Channel nowadays. The line-up of shows are un-interesting for me at the moment.
The reason why I chose Discovery as an add-on channel was because of the strength of its shows. I was deliberating then on getting Discovery or TLC then but I decided on the former because I liked the shows. Recently, the shows on Discovery are ho-humms and the only show that still entices me is Deadliest Catch which is a bit difficult to catch because it goes on a Monday, at 11pm, just about the same time when you're lulling yourself to sleep.
I'm thinking of adding the History Channel for an additional Php 50 per month which I think has a great line-up of shows recently (it was the only channel I was on during my Roxas trip) or TLC (at Php 20 a month), or even both. I could eliminate Discovery altogether so that my total monthly bill would only be set back by Php 20.
Maybe I'll do just that ... this weekend.
