The results are out -- it's a GIRL :)
For those who don't know, Elvie is pregnant and a few hours ago, we received confirmation (via a photo of the ultrasound made) that it's another baby girl for us this December.
Elvie had her ultrasound a couple of weekends ago but the sonologist wasn't able to confirm the baby's gender. Apparently, our little one was keeping its legs pressed close to its body and effectively hid its gender. Last Monday, we went to a nearby clinic for another ultrasound and again were unable to determine the gender with proof but the doctor who did the ultrasound said she saw the baby's gender for a split-second and she strongly believed it was a girl. She asked Elvie to come back yesterday afternoon for another session and voila -- confirmed -- it's a girl.
Now, we can finally start doing the baby shopping. And getting the ninong and ninang list ready. And coming up with a suitable baby girl name. It's going to be a busy yet meaningful holiday season for my little family.

There are still a few kinks to work out but I've made the announcement that it's going live by October. My internal target though is to launch the site by October 1 and aside from making the website ready, I also need to ready myself physically and mentally for the forthcoming task.
That's because for the new site to become a real income-generator I need to invest time on it on a daily basis and make a commitment to extra work hours outside of my 9-6 day job. It means committing myself to making this succeed. First goal is to recuperate the costs I've incurred so far (not to mention the other resources I've used up for this project -- electricity, man-hours, internet subscription, etc.).
I've read somewhere that an online business can start making money in under 2 years (or they bust out). I'm hoping though that I can make money out of this sooner than the two-years average.

My Compaq Presario CQ40 AMD Turion X2 ATi Radeon just turned one month and so far, it has been superb. However, I am not yet able to maximize its potential as I currently am not engaged in any graphics-intensive project. It does get maximized when I play video-games (although I haven't played GTA in the last couple of weeks).
Another item that isn't maximized is the free mobile broadband kit that came with the laptop. My wife and I are sharing the internet at home via router and there's really no point in using the prepaid internet kit at home as the signal is unstable. It will be of use however once I travel outside of the metro and bring along my laptop.

Brainfood, the group behind a successful series of comics and writing workshops last summer, is once again conducting another seminar this October. This time, it's meant for budding fantasists and speculative fictionists.
Entitled You Have Worlds in You!, the workshop is a science fiction and fantasy writing workshop and will be held all Saturdays of October at Fully Booked Bonifacio High Street. The four-session seminar/workshop costs Php 2,000 per attendee and is aimed at helping would-be SF&F writers hone their creative writing skills. Towards the seminar's end, all stories will be collected into an anthology that "participants can bring home."
In keeping with Brainfood's request to spread the word, here's the poster I've nipped from their website :)
