After much internal debate, I’ve finally decided to make the “ultimate” personal blog. This meant closing down my first blog, “The Oblique Observer” and creating this new blog where I hope to put into web publishing whatever piece of work I call (and hope you will also call) writing.
(Editor’s Note: For the information of everyone, especially those who are new to the internet and have found their way to this particular corner in cyberspace, a blog is the short term for web log. A web log or blog is any piece of writing that gets uploaded into the internet for public consumption. A blog can be someone’s personal public journal, or an online diary. Companies use blogs as marketing tools to interact with their customers. Still others use blogs to showcase their talents.)
I am to do all these in this new blog.
So why The Coffee House Chronicles?
Aside from the obvious liking of yours truly for coffee, coffee houses are the common venues where I had some of my most enjoyable experiences with friends, loved ones, and of course, my wife. Not a few thousand conversations have started over cups of cappuccinos, and lattés, iced mochas, and frapps. Starbucks, Figaro, Seattle’s Best and even Cebu’s Bo’s and the Nescafé coffee stations have been witness to many laughter, tears, and hours and hours of incessant talk about anything and everything under the sun.
Everyday life rants, commentaries, humor and jokes, amusing anecdotes, sob stories, raving and reeking reviews, music musings, personal ponderings and pointers, fiction fanaticism, Tolkienesque knowledge – these are just a few of what will emerge from this blog. All written from a first person POV, as if we were chatting about such things over steaming cups of Batangas brew.
So, it’s only fitting that an online dialogue, mainly between myself and whoever comes upon this blog, should happen in The Coffee House.
Come share a cup with me folks.
